TrenchTech Assists in Exhumation of H.H. Holmes (aka "Jack the Ripper")

Featured on the History Channel's "American Ripper" tv series, a descendant of serial killer H.H. Holmes was tasked with digging a pit in the cemetery to locate and retrieve the remains needed for scientific examination. It was not clear if H.H. Holmes was truly executed and then buried here in the Delaware County, PA cemetery.

TrenchTech was there to keep everyone safe and focused during the dig; an aluminum Build a Box was provided to shore the pit. The sons of the family-owned business (Connor & John Kerrigan) were there to oversee and assist in the OSHA compliant installation of the shoring apparatus.

The pit was dug 10 feet down, where a pine box coffin was found, but it was empty. The team decided to continue digging and TrenchTech provided hydraulic shores with Finform to add protection for the additional depth. The team eventually discovered a cement sarcophagus below the empty pine box. Inside were the remains of a body which was later proven to be those of H.H. Holmes himself.
